As part of the corporate communications team, you will also be responsible for the production of a number of events for the Australian and New Zealand media.Your duties will include:

Events Coordinator – Melbourne

Eclipse Hospitality are a market leader in providing corporate hospitality at sporting events on a national and international level e.g. AFL, Cricket, Race Days and Golf Days in addition to Major Events, Concerts and Shows, Sporting Tours.

The Role:
Your primary focus in this role will be to manage our Melbourne based events and ensure the formation and delivery of quality events on budget for Eclipse and their corporate clients with a focus on increasing Gross Profit.
This position would best suit a confident, pro-active and customer driven conference/events professional, who thrives on developing strong supplier relationships and is looking to work for a fast growing events company. You will oversee all aspects of the events from conception & budgeting to delivery.
Applicants need to have an eye for detail, a good head for numbers and be great with people. In addition, you will need to exhibit drive, a high level of communication skills and the ability to work to strict deadlines to ensure that all responsibilities are dealt with effectively, professionally and most importantly in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Effectively co-ordinating and leading events in Melbourne and some interstate events.
Overseeing the critical elements of high quality event delivery.
Overseeing all steps involved in the construction and execution of events.
Ensuring key Core product supply is adequately planned for, sourced, and negotiated in advance.
Driving new product and event formation from conception to getting to market.
Driving the renegotiation and renewal of supply with established supply channels.
Developing existing department practices and procedures.
Negotiating terms and dealing with suppliers and venues.
Increasing the speed and level of service the Operations team provides to the sales teams and clients.
Ensuring adequate company knowledge and records of competitor’s offerings and prices.
Building and maintaining relationships with key suppliers and selected clients.
Compiling and managing event budgets and ensuring Gross Profit targets are met.
Monitoring Gross Profit on a product/event basis.
Ensuring any excess capacity of products is dealt with in an adequate and timely manner.
Co-ordinating and briefing full time & casual staff prior to events.
Managing events on site.
Maintaining communication between departments on critical developments.
Some evening and weekend work involved.
This position will report to the Operations Manager in the Sydney office.
Minimum Experience:
You will have a minimum of 3-5 years full time experience within the Conference/Events industry.

In this role you will be responsible for overseeing all of the company’s corporate events with the aim of meeting the marketing, financial and retention objectives of the team. On a day to day basis you will be required to plan, coordinate and execute all event management activities with particular focus on managing event and seminar logistics. In addition to your main duties you will also be required to support the Marketing Manager and the sales team with various marketing campaigns.
To be considered for this role it is essential that you have a proven experience in event management within the financial services or professional services sector. Ideally you will have tertiary qualifications in Marketing or Business and two to three years experience in a marketing or events based role. Your excellent communication skills, organization skills, attention to detail and negotiation skills will set you apart from other applicants.
